Changes to library hours
The Alkek Library and the Round Rock Campus Library will be open during both spring break weeks (March 14-29) and on a modified schedule the following online class weeks (March 30-April 12). Check our website for updated information about open hours during these weeks. Patrons should consult the FAQs about the Coronavirus on the university website when deciding whether to come to campus and are advised to use hand sanitizer provided when using workstations or handling library materials. It is also a good idea to consider social distancing when selecting a work space on campus. The Wittliff Collections will be open during its normal operating hours when they fall within the modified hours for the Alkek Library.
Changes to Open Computer Lab hours
Open Computer Labs on the San Marcos Campus will remain closed throughout both spring break weeks. Users are encouraged to use the computers in the Alkek Library if needed during spring break. The computer labs in McCoy Hall and the Family Consumer Sciences building will have open hours during the online class weeks. Please check the online computer labs web page for modified hours in these buildings.
Online Resources
An online remote services guide has been created to help people connect with library services from off campus. The Ask a Librarian chat and email services will be active during these weeks for those who need research help or assistance with any other library service. Faculty who need remote course support can consult our remote course support guide to learn how the library can assist with preparation for online teaching.
Library materials due dates extended
Most library materials with a due date before April 12 will be extended to April 13. Exceptions include items with a shorter term loan period like laptops, DVDs, models, AV materials and reserves. We will do the best we can to accommodate anyone who has extenuating circumstances for why library materials may not be returned on time.
