Alkek One invites students or student teams to submit art to display on the new first-floor lobby of the Alkek Library
What: Your project can take the form of any medium such as: photography, video, animation, graphic, sculpture, 3D printed object, etc. Use your imagination! Artwork should represent Texas State’s current Common Experience theme of DYNAMICS as it relates to Alkek One, particularly through technology, creativity and design thinking. Specifically, we are looking for submissions that promote Women in Technology or People of Color in Technology. The chosen artwork will be displayed either digitally via a wall projector or physically placed in the gallery.
Where: Alkek One is a hub of technology-focused spaces located on the first floor of the Alkek Library. Our spaces feature a variety of technology that supports the maker culture, immersive reality, time-based media, geographic information systems and digital design.
When: Idea submissions are due by January 15 at 11:59 pm. Winners will be notified by January 27. Project content is due by February 10 and artwork will be displayed through the spring and summer semesters of 2021.
