Texas State University Libraries (UL) invites all faculty and research staff to join us as judges for the 2025 TXST Open Datathon! This annual event promises to be an engaging exploration into the data world right here at Texas State.
Event Overview
At the Open Datathon, student participants will tackle real-world data challenges using open-access datasets to drive meaningful insights. From data cleaning to advanced analytics and visualization, students will develop skills through hands-on experience while networking with peers and mentors in a collaborative environment.

Event Goals
– Promote open data use through resources from the Texas Data Repository and other sources
– Leverage open data for insights to drive effective decision-making
– Support interdisciplinary collaboration by sharing data and project outcomes with the TXST community
Awards
– Projects will be judged by an expert panel using a standard rubric
– Finalist teams will receive certificates and awards for outstanding work
– Judges will be recognized with special awards for their contributions
