Round Rock Library takes steps to protect safety of patrons and staff

The RRC Library has incorporated various measures to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff when they visit the library. First and foremost, 100 percent of patrons visiting the RRC Library have been wearing a facemask following guidelines established by the university. Thank you for helping us, help you!

Efforts have been made in the areas of cleaning and sanitation also, with the implementation of expanded cleaning routines by library staff. Computer stations are cleaned after each use including the keyboard, mice, and desktop area. This cleaning routine also includes open study areas. You, our users, help us by flipping a red/green card left at each station indicating when the location requires cleaning. Green side up indicates the station is available for use.

In the past office supplies were out in the public areas including staplers, golf pencils, scrap paper and a three-hole punch. These items are now kept at the Information Desk and are available by simply asking. When items are returned they are cleaned and made ready for the next user. Seating throughout the library has been reconfigured to ensure a safe distance between patrons. Floor markers are placed in the queue area of the print release station to maintain appropriate social distancing while waiting for your turn. All items returned to the RRC Library are quarantined before being returned to regular shelving.

As always, students have access to our numerous online resources.

All RRC Library staff will try to help you the best we can if you are in person or at a distance. RRC librarians are available to meet with you virtually both weekdays and on most Sundays, a service we had in place even before current conditions. We encourage you to continue to “come in and find out more” even if you choose to do so virtually.
